For the sixth time, Watson's Chocolates has been voted Best Sponge Candy in Western New York by the readers of Buffalo Spree Magazine, earning the title in 2014, 2017, 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025, and now 2026. This latest recognition comes as Watson's celebrates its 80th anniversary, making the honor especially meaningful.

The award reflects generations of craftsmanship, with Watson's famous Sponge Candy still made in small batches in traditional copper kettles by skilled candy makers and hand enrobed in rich chocolate using recipes perfected over four generations.

Over the years, Buffalo Spree readers have also recognized Watson's with several other Best of WNY honors:
