I was born and raised in Tonawanda. When my Mom introduced me to Watsons sponge candy there was no doubt my life changed. I moved to the bay area 25 yrs ago. My Mom would periodically send me out some sponge candy….Always the milk chocolate. One time she sent me the orange and for all the times she sent them I felt so proud to show it off to friends. Dumb move because sharing them meant less for me.. My sister will bring them back when she visits the area. I chose to send my in-laws some for Xmas. I got a call from family in Texas. They were so thankful they loved them so much..Im certain they didn’t last a day.
Yes they have gotten hugely expensive but chocolate prices were up even before inflation.
If I won a years supply I would be less homesick, heavier, and more willing to share

I agree the prices have gone way up. I have a family tradition that I buy my grown, spouses, and grandkids the large Valentine flowered heard with their name on it. My mother started this tradition about 65+ years ago. So sad that this past Valentines day i was only able to order small hearts for the grandkids and none for my son’s and their wives. So sad to break tradition.

Your prices have gone up so dramatically. When you add shipping costs, ordering can be out of reach for many people.
