Buffalo's Best Sponge Candy
Considered Buffalo’s Best, our award-winning candy is crispy, tender chunks of caramelized spun sugar drenched in our wonderfully creamy chocolate. Available in milk chocolate, dark chocolate, and orange-flavored sponge.
Made by hand in small batches, each sponge is carefully cooked in our traditional copper kettles by our highly trained candy makers. We then carefully hand-pack and vacuum seal each gift box for freshness during shipping. Sponge Candy is gluten-free and available in a variety of sizes.
As always, our Sponge Candy is delicious anytime, but we suggest enjoying it within a week or two of purchase as heat and humidity are not its friend.

Watson’s has mastered the perfect sponge (no overdone, tooth-chipping hard bits here), then covered it with the most delectable milk chocolate to create the perfect melt-in-your-mouth confection!
Most of my boxes of sponge candy had several 5 to 8 pieces that were broken and in many pieces.

Ordered a 2 lb box and thought it would be too much. However, my fiancé and I ate the whole thing in a week (I know, it’s bad). First year having sponge candy, and I’m addicted !
Excellent as always! We love Watsons, the sponge candy is SO good! We order multiple times a year, even summer since they offer coolers & overnight delivery! We gift Watsons chocolate to family around the country with everyone living away from Buffalo now.
Grew up in Kenmore & Watson's has always been my favorite candy. I love sponge candy and their Charlie Chaplin. I often send a box of sponge candy as a gift, as I know it's sure to please. Whenever I'm back in Buffalo, Watson's is one of my first stops. This picture is showing us and our grandchildren enjoying sponge candy at Watson's in Orchard Park, a few years ago.
The combination of the two flavors... melts in my mouth. It is like having Easter chocolate before that holiday!! I feel that the sponge is double dipped... which appeals to me greatly! YUMM
Watson's sponge candy is aways a special treat since we live out of state. My husband sent me some for valentine's day. Unfortunately, 5 or 6 of the 20 some pieces were broken, so there was sponge "dust" and chocolate pieces all throughout the bag. The rest still tasted great!

This is my mom’s favorite candy. I try to get it for her a couple times a year. The batch was tasty as always! However, many of the pieces were broken and smashed in this box. This is not how it usually comes. Not sure if this happened due to packaging, transport or delivery but I was slightly disappointed when my mom opened the box to see the broken pieces. Still my mom’s favorite candy and will purchase again.

Old and broken. My wife who, is from Buffalo, favorite sponge candy is Watson’s. We were quite disappointed in the fact that our order was completely broken and tasted stale. We have ordered before or bought at the store, and always have been happy, but this order was not good

The 1 lb box of sponge candy we bought for our Thanksgiving guests turned out to be a bust. When we opened the box, we saw that several pieces had already crumbled during shipping. Even after removing several from the first row, we discovered that several in each successive row had the chocolate come off in little sheets, leaving a naked “sponge” in the box. Needless to say, we didn’t put these out for our guests. And while we enjoyed them ourselves, the whole point in splurging was to share them with friends.
I am only giving you 3 stars because I ordered all milk chocolate and you sent me dark and milk chocolate. Sponge candy arrived in good shape and was very good. Just wish it was all milk chocolate.
Haven’t had Sponge Candy in many moons , always knew the other place wasn’t as good as yours! I’ll be ordering another 2 boxes to be shipped out in December !
The chocolates arrived at my house, and I immediately brought the box inside and the supposedly cold packs or lukewarm, and the chocolates were melted in the package. Very poor packaging and I will never order from this company again.
It was part of a birthday gift for my sister. Your sponge candy is her favorite. With this heat I was worried about whether it would survive the trip. The ice pack in the cooler was totally thawed when it arrived but the chocolate hadn’t melted. She was thrilled. Thank you!

My dad came from the Buffalo area and got me hooked on Watson years ago. Fast forward and it’s become a family tradition. The chocolate is so delicious and fresh! I love the crunch of the sponge candy. It’s a perfect treat for yourself or gift for someone else.
Candy was loved by all but delivery missed Graduation by a week.
My daughter who lives in Buffalo, originally from Rochester married a Buffalo guy whose family had a weakness for Watson's Sponge candy.
My husband and I sent them an Anniversary gift basket which contained milk chocolate sponge candy. The basket arrived when my daughter was away. Her husband ate all of the sponge candy, saving none for her. When I learned this, I ordered a box of dark chocolate sponge candy and had it sent to her with a note stating "for you only" and I said to hide it. She followed my advice but did allow her husband one piece just because she's sweet like that. Happy Ending!
