Position: Retail Manager - Elmwood Village
Watson’s Chocolates is a 75+ year old chocolate confectionary manufacturer and retailer in Buffalo, NY, most famous for our Sponge Candy. With 8 retail locations and a very robust website, we are seeking a manager for our Elmwood Ave./Elmwood Village store.
Our Elmwood Ave. store is in the Elmwood Village – busy with foot traffic and neighborhood charm. Watson’s is the perfect stop-by kind of shop for gifts, holiday treats as well as delicious summertime ice cream. This shop also sees lots of folk from out of town seeking the BEST Buffalo Sponge Candy experience.
Our store manager should be filled with enthusiasm, not only for the retail environment but for chocolate! We are known for our customer service as well as our high-quality products as we seek an individual to match that in every way. Creativity and leadership skills a must to lead our team at Watson’s on Elmwood.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
- Create an exceptional retail experience
- Lead and direct the business activities of the shop
- Serve as the face of Watson’s in the neighborhood
- Manage inventory and all monetary transactions
- Ensure quality by proper training of all store employees
- Attend seasonal meetings at HQ in Buffalo
- Conduct staff meetings with personnel on a regular basis
- Maintain store maintenance and cleanliness
- Educate customers on all our products and company history
- Help with social media
- Maintain high quality and consistent product standards
- Maintain familiarity with product and quality standards
- Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
- Applicant should have previous retail experience
- History in a leadership role
- Passion for high quality products and customer service
- Must be able to stand for shifts and move about the store
- Perform repetitive motion with the hands, wrists and forearms to pack candy and manage storage
- Communicates well with HQ, employees and especially with customers
- Lift up to 5 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally

Position: Customer Service & eCommerce Associate
We are currently hiring a customer service associates for our catalog & web business in our factory location.
Position is full-time seasonal (September- April) from 8:30am-4:30pm with overtime opportunities and some weekends.
This person must possess the ability to maintain a positive attitude while providing exceptional customer service and support of incoming phone calls as well as order entry for customer orders. Must be self-motivated and reliable as this position is very busy during the rush times.
We sell our product all over the US and this position will be responsible for picking, packing and shipping for internet and phone orders.
Candidates must be physically capable of being on their feet for entire shift. Organizational and computer skills are very important as it is a busy multi-task environment.
Job duties include:
- Packing product into boxes for purchase
- Answering phones and taking orders in Shopify platform
- Processing order and packing orders into shipping boxes
- Processing shipping via cloud-based shipping software
- Working with Fedex/USPS on pick up schedule
Skills we are looking for:
- Ability to work with detail, speed, and accuracy
- Ability to work well with others during rush times

- Physically capable to pack and move boxes weighing up 30 lbs.
- Must be able to operate a personal computer with a general understanding of application software
- Must be able to work some weekends during holiday time
Pay begins at $15/hour based on experience and ability to stay for the season.
